Alice Cheng
Alice’s Bears
Hong Kong

Thank you for voting for my white rabbit. I based my creation off the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, as it is one of my favourite books, and my name is Alice. The book has become part of who I am.
I would like to express many thanks
to my teacher Ms. Gloria for teaching me how to sew, and I have learned
so many skills from her.
I would like to take the opportunity
to express my gratitude to my parents for encouraging me along this wonderful sewing journey.
I have been learning how to make teddy bears since grade 2 and now
I am in 8th grade; I am still learning.
It has been lots of fun and I hope to continue this incredible adventure with the support of my parents and teacher.
Kind regards,
Alice

First of all, let’s raise a toast to URSA Awards Competition on its 20th Anniversary!
Thanks to all who have voted in support of my bears, I am thrilled that all my three entries have won a place this year.
Applause should go to Valerie for organizing such a great competition which enables us in the teddy bear community worldwide to showcase our creations on one boundary-less platform. Over the years, I have learnt so much through seeing the spectacular artworks of master artists. Most of all, the many interesting categories of the URSA wards Competition always give me extra inspiration.
My heartfelt thanks also go to my mentor Gloria Chan, the founder of Hong Kong Teddy Bear Association, for encouraging greenhorn bear-makers to take part in the URSA Awards Competition to broaden their horizon, just like how she led me years ago to step onto this wonderful teddy bear art journey.
Lastly, sending hugs across the miles to all fellow bear artists.
With love,
Angela

I am deeply honored to be a winner in the URSA Awards Competition.
Creating teddy bears has always been more than just a craft for me, it’s been a source of comfort and healing. I am a nurse and the emotional demands, at times,
can be overwhelming. Bear making became my quiet refuge, helping
reconnect with joy.
Unexpectedly, this passion has now opened the door for me to start my own creative business; something
I never imagined.
To everyone who supported my work, voted, and believed in my bears, thank you
from the bottom of my heart. Your encouragement means more than words
can express.
I would also like to thank Bears&Buds.com for providing such a wonderful platform
to celebrate creativity and connect with fellow bear makers around the world.
Again, thank you for your voting!
With gratitude and bear hugs.
Venus
